about
Song for my recently deceased wonderful nephew and godson Samuel Roquette (aged 11). He was a great runner, stop-animation video-maker and Star Wars fan and well as having an incredibly beautiful heart!
I'm not charging for the song (and PLEASE DON'T DONATE HERE), as some of the money will go to Bandcamp) but I would ask people to donate money to Bloodbikes here:
bloodbikeseast.ie/donate-money-2/ who are a non-funded voluntary group who helped my beautiful godson/nephew while he had leukaemia by delivering blood samples to hospital so he and his family didn't have to make the trip every week and so, got to spend more precious time together. Please support them if you can. And feel free to share the song!
lyrics
Song for Samuel
Verse 1
Tick tock goes his heart in his body so strong
He ran faster and maybe further than other men
An angel came down to teach us how to love
An angel became a boy and the boy was like a man
So like a man, and yet a boy
V.2
He ran in park, he could run through the dark
Tick tock goes his heart in our very own now
Teaching us how to love and live
He’ll be teaching us forever
That’s just what he gives, and God he gives, gives, gives
Chorus (x2)
Oh Samuel
We’re under your beautiful spell
Eleven brilliant years,
We cannot fight our tears
V.3
He could stop running with stop-animation
Creating worlds with his friends, family and such patience
He had a vision and he shared it with the world
Fearless tiger boy and gentle soul
You made the family whole
Now we’re left with a hole where you once were
The wind it will blow and it’ll hurt like hell
But we’ve known your love and you knew you were loved so well as well
Chorus (x2)
Bridge
Samuel Roquette flies to stars and moon in his rocket,
May the force be with you boy
You’ve been such a joy
You’ve been such a joy,
You’ve been such a joy, joy, joy, joy, joy
Chorus (x1)
